Used materials

K122 Triangle

EP312 Bolo kit (The little triangle number K022 is replaced with the large one K122)

Bolo Kokopelli

First I start with a drawing.
I draw the contour of the triangle and within this drawing I made a drawing of the Kokopelli figure.
This is a dancing flute player known from the native Indians of the United States.
Bend the silver wire around the drawing of the figure.
This is a very difficult job, so take your time to do it.
Use pliers to hold the wire against the paper so the figure will be level.
It cannot be done in one piece so you get several parts.

Now you have to apply counter enamel to the backside.
After this we can start with the front.

The silver wire must rise somewhat in order to get a greater effect.
For this purpose I bend a piece of copper wire like you see on the left.

On this way the silver Kokopelli figure will rise when it is place on the copper wire.
In this way you are able to prevent the silver wire is sinking into the enamel.
On the right you can see how the copper wire is placed

Sift a layer of enamel and burn it.
Sift another layer of enamel and make sure the copper wire is not visible.

On the picture you can barely see the copper wire.
Place the silver Kokopelli on it
If you have trouble to get the silver figure level, then you can place a piece of copper on top.
It will press the silver figure level.
Place the art piece on a counter enamel standard and burn it in the kiln.

After the burning you can see that the Kokopelli figure is glued on top of the copper wire.
Now you can fill in everything with wet pack enamel.

First a layer on the outside of the Kokopelli figure.
The under laying copper wire will disappear now.

Apply as much as wet enamel so that there will be a small edge of the silver wire visible.
Some wet enamel shall run trough under the silver wire.
That is not a problem.

After burning this layer, then you can fill the inside of the Kokopelli figure.
Do not apply to much.
Make sure the edge of the silver wire is visible.
This will shine into the surface when the piece is finished.

Here the result of the finished art piece. A nice figure with a silver lining.
Glue the clamp to the backside.
Clean the edges and apply the silver-plater.
Time to wear this with proud!!
